Warm, luminous and richly textured, The Lemon Tree is an original impressionistic painting by Lesley Blackburn. Rustic lemons emerge among lively green and pink foliage, set against a softly reflective silver ground that catches the changing light.
Worked in oils and oil stick on deep box canvas, the painting combines expressive brushwork with generous palette-knife impasto. Its tactile surface and fresh botanical palette bring the warmth of a sunlit Mediterranean garden into a contemporary interior.
Lesley Blackburn creates expressive contemporary paintings distinguished by confident colour, energetic mark-making and richly worked surfaces. Her botanical subjects balance the immediacy of a garden in bloom with the lasting presence of an original work of art.
