Near Llangorse, Brecon Beacons is a classical Welsh landscape inspired by the expansive views across Llangorse Lake toward the Brecon Beacons. This original oil painting captures the quiet grandeur of the Welsh countryside, where rugged foreground textures meet the soft atmospheric rise of distant mountains.
Painted in oils on fine canvas, the work emphasises contrast between structure and atmosphere. The dry stone walls in the foreground are rendered with careful attention to texture and light, each stone subtly articulated to convey solidity and age. Beyond them, the Brecon Beacons unfold in muted tonal layers, dissolving gently into shifting sky and air. This balance between detail and suggestion creates depth and a sense of calm rural space.
