Friendship is an original floral painting by Edelgard Schroer, filled with hundreds of expressive blossoms in shades of pink, magenta, deep red and soft white. Two dark, sweeping branches rise into a dense canopy of flowers, meeting and intertwining across the wide panoramic composition.
I created the blossoms individually with loose, spontaneous brushstrokes, building a rich rhythm of colour and movement across the softly textured grey-green background. Small light-reflecting details add another subtle dimension and make the surface come alive as the viewing angle changes.
The title Friendship reflects the idea behind the composition: two individual forms growing towards one another, connected without losing their own character.
