Flaming Blossoms is an original contemporary floral painting celebrating the breathtaking abundance of a tree in full bloom.
A dark, elegantly curved trunk rises through the tall composition and branches out beneath hundreds of individually painted blossoms. Shades of vivid pink, crimson, deep burgundy and white create an extraordinary canopy of colour against the calm blue-grey background.
I painted each blossom with loose, expressive brushstrokes, varying the tones and shapes so that no two areas feel exactly alike. Some flowers appear bold and saturated, while others are touched with white and soft pink. The contrast between the dark branches and the luminous blossoms gives the painting both depth and a strong graphic presence.
The unusually slender vertical format is an important part of the composition. It emphasizes the upward movement of the tree and allows the blossoms to spread through the canvas like a cascade of colour.
For me, Flaming Blossoms captures that spectacular moment when a flowering tree seems almost too beautiful to be real – intense, fleeting and full of life.
Its elegant 120 × 40 cm format makes this original artwork particularly suited to narrow walls, between windows, beside a doorway or as a striking vertical accent in a contemporary interior.
