Memory Fields is an original abstract painting by Edelgard Schroer, composed of 36 individually structured square fields, each functioning as an autonomous visual fragment within a larger architectural grid. The composition balances order and variation, structure and softness, surface and depth.

Created in layered acrylic on canvas, the painting combines strong relief texture with translucent glazing techniques. Tones of white, off-white, beige and brown, with integrated gold accents, interact subtly with light — giving the work a refined material presence. The grid creates rhythm whilst each square retains its own visual identity.

The 80 cm square format establishes calm balance and clarity, working particularly well above a sofa where the geometric structure can unfold naturally. Above a sideboard it adds tactile depth without overwhelming the space. On a larger wall it functions as a contemporary focal point defined by structure rather than colour intensity.

Professionally framed in solid oak, the natural wood frame reinforces the authenticity and warmth of the piece.
