Forever Spring is a large original cherry blossom painting celebrating the beauty, abundance and timeless sense of renewal associated with spring.
Across the panoramic canvas, dark sweeping branches spread beneath hundreds of individually painted blossoms in shades of pink, rose, crimson, burgundy and white. The flowers form an almost continuous canopy of colour, while the muted blue-grey background creates a calm contrast and allows every blossom to stand out.
I painted the blossoms individually with loose, expressive brushstrokes, deliberately varying their colour, size and intensity. Some are deep and saturated, others touched with soft pink and white. Between them, the strong dark branches appear and disappear, creating depth and guiding the eye across the entire composition.
The exceptional 170 cm width is an essential part of Forever Spring. It gives the impression that the flowering branches continue far beyond the edges of the canvas, creating an immersive feeling of standing beneath a tree in full bloom.
For me, Forever Spring captures something we often wish we could hold onto – that fleeting moment when nature is overflowing with new life and everything seems fresh, colourful and full of possibility.
With its impressive panoramic proportions, this one-of-a-kind artwork is particularly striking above a large sofa, sideboard, bed or dining area and brings a powerful yet uplifting presence to a contemporary interior.
