Summer Dance is an original abstract painting filled with colour, movement and the joyful energy of summer.
Across the canvas, sweeping layers of blue, turquoise, green, white, pink and warm accents seem to rise, overlap and dance with one another. Broad, expressive strokes create a richly textured band of colour, while the luminous turquoise and softly fading upper area brings openness and a wonderful sense of space to the composition.
I deliberately allowed the colours to meet, interrupt and partially reveal one another. Curved brushstrokes, spontaneous marks and contrasting passages create a rhythm that feels almost musical. The vivid pink foreground adds an unexpected contemporary edge and gives the cooler blues and greens even greater intensity.
For me, Summer Dance is about that particular lightness of summer – colour, warmth, movement and the feeling that everything is briefly more carefree. It does not depict a specific landscape, yet it may evoke associations with water, vegetation, flowers or a distant horizon.
With its generous 120 × 80 cm format and vibrant palette, Summer Dance is an expressive statement piece for a modern interior while retaining an uplifting, airy character.
