Promise of Spring is a large original floral painting celebrating the first exhilarating abundance of a new season.
A strong dark tree trunk rises into sweeping branches that stretch almost across the entire panoramic canvas. Hundreds of individually painted blossoms in shades of soft pink, rose, burgundy and white fill the composition, creating a magnificent canopy against the calm grey background.
I painted each blossom individually with loose, expressive brushstrokes. Some flowers are soft and delicate, others deeper and more intense, allowing the colours to move naturally across the canvas. Small shimmering accents scattered between the blossoms add subtle points of light and make the surface especially engaging when viewed up close.
The title Promise of Spring reflects that special moment when the first blossoms appear and nature seems to promise warmth, colour and new beginnings. Despite the abundance of flowers, the composition retains a sense of air and movement – as though a gentle spring breeze were passing through the branches.
Its impressive 150 × 50 cm panoramic format makes this original painting particularly suited to a wide wall above a sofa, sideboard, bed or dining area.
