Happyness 2 is an original abstract floral painting by Edelgard Schroer, filled with warmth, movement and the joyful colours of a summer garden.

Expressive flowers in deep red, burgundy, orange and white seem to dance across a softly flowing background of warm peach, apricot, yellow and fresh green. Some blossoms are boldly defined with generous, tactile brushstrokes, while others dissolve into spontaneous marks and traces of colour.

I painted the flowers freely rather than trying to capture them botanically. For me, their character lies in movement, imperfection and the energy of the brushstroke. Long, delicate stems lead the eye through the tall composition, while translucent drips and flowing layers of paint create a wonderful sense of height and lightness.

The transition from fresh greens at the base into glowing apricot and yellow tones above gives Happyness 2 an uplifting, almost sunlit atmosphere. Its unusually tall and narrow format makes it particularly effective on a slender wall, between windows, in an entrance area or wherever a vertical statement piece is needed.

Presented in a white floater frame, the artwork has a clean contemporary finish and is ready to hang.
