Dream of Spring is an original contemporary floral painting celebrating the abundance, colour and irresistible optimism of spring.
Hundreds of individually painted blossoms in shades of crimson, red, pink and white spread across the canvas, creating a rich canopy of colour. Dark, sweeping branches appear and disappear between the flowers, giving structure and depth to the composition, while the soft blue-grey background allows the blossoms to glow with remarkable intensity.
I painted the flowers with loose, expressive brushstrokes, varying their size, colour and direction so that the surface feels alive rather than repetitive. Some blossoms are bold and saturated, others delicate and almost translucent. Together they create a wonderful rhythm, as though a spring breeze were moving gently through the flowering branches.
For me, Dream of Spring captures that brief, magical moment when nature seems to transform almost overnight. The sheer abundance of blossoms conveys joy and renewal, while the darker branches provide a strong graphic contrast beneath the softness of the flowers.
