Cherry Blossom Symphony is an original floral painting by Edelgard Schroer, celebrating the breathtaking abundance of a cherry tree in full bloom. I painted each blossom individually with loose, expressive brushstrokes, building layer upon layer until the entire tree seems alive with movement.
Against the soft grey background, the pink, red and white tones appear especially luminous. Some blossoms are bold and clearly defined, while others seem to float across the surface like petals carried by a gentle spring breeze. The contrast between the dark tree and the delicate flowers gives the painting both strength and lightness.
