I painted the flowers individually with expressive brushstrokes, allowing variations in colour and shape to give the composition its lively rhythm. The textured, softly neutral background contrasts beautifully with the dark branches and vivid blossoms, while small raised details add another tactile dimension to the surface.
For me, Cherry Blooming captures that wonderful moment in spring when a tree suddenly seems to explode into colour. The painting is cheerful and energetic, yet the restrained background keeps the overall composition balanced and contemporary.
